Location ; Saturday start day, set in the small hamlet of Boldre, Heywood cottage is located at the end of a private drive. Placed in a courtyard setting of buildings that were originally the Tithe Barn of Boldre, this Barn now forms the owners own home. Heywood cottage which lies to one side of this courtyard, benefits from its own private entrance, designated garden area and parking. Beautifully situated in mature grounds with river frontage. River fishing for brown and sea trout, plus lake fishing for carp & coarse fish by arrangement.

It is the perfect base for exploring the whole of the New Forest, yet only ten minutes drive to the coastal town of Lymington with the shops, restaurants and bustling Saturday street market. Why not go 'overseas' and catch the Isle of Wight ferry, and have lunch at The George at Yarmouth before returning to Lymington to explore the antique shops along the Georgian High Street.

Boldre is served by several good pubs in the immediate vicinity, with the Red Lion a fifteen minute walk or an even quicker bike ride. Beaulieu, Bucklers Hard and beautiful forest walks are only a short drive away.

Sailing from Lymington and the beaches of Highcliffe and Bournemouth are within easy reach from Boldre.

Accomodation; The single storey property has two bedrooms. The main bedroom has a 5ft double bed ( access from one side only) and there is space for a cot . The second bedroom has one three foot single bed. The sitting room has a day bed which can provide an extra berth should the need occur.

The bathroom comprisies of corner bath, hand held shower, WC and basin.

The sitting room is spacious and light, with woodburning fire, comfortable sofas and views over the gounds.There is a TV, DVD and video. The kitchen with dining area is equiped with dishwasher, fridge, freezer, Bosh oven, hob and microwave. The access to Heywood cottage is from the garden path and up a step to the stable style back door.

Outside The holiday cottage has access to an large informal area of garden ( unfenced) with table, chairs and BBQ, extending down to the banks of the Lymington River. The owners own side of these grounds also include the river banks and a small lake. Parents should note that all these areas are unfenced forming an open space for both properties Therefore parental supervision is required for children playing outside the holiday cottage at all times. Fishing is available on request.

For the smaller guest, a highchair and travel cot are available on request. All bedlinen and towels are provided with the exception on cot linen and beach towels. Initial basket of logs, additional supply available locally.

A dog is accepted by arrangement for an additional charge of £25. ( For both short breaks & full weeks).

Nearest Shop. Small Somerfield + Petrol + cash point.Lymington Ampress Park, Lymington SO41 8XN. Under a ten minute drive from Heywood Cottage. Late closing.

Nearest rail station, Brockenhurst ( Waterloo) South West Trains. About four miles distant from Heywood cottage.

Nearest town. Lymington, about four miles.Ferry to the Isle of Wight, Marks and Spencers Simply food. Most banks. A very lively street market on a Saturday which takes over the High Street.

Nearest Village. Brockenhurst. selection of little shops, cafes. About four miles from Heywood Cottage.

Local eating. The Red Lion a fifteen minute walk or an even quicker bike ride.The Hobbler and the Filly inn, both a five minute drive.

See the ponies. The nearest open forest is but five minutes drive away at Sway, or at Pilley.

Recreation. River fishing for brown and sea trout, plus lake fishing for carp & coarse fish by arrangement at Heywood Cottage.Horse riding at Forest Park, or Ford Farm stables, both at Brockenhurst.

Bike hire. from Country Lanes, Cycle EX, both at Brockenhurst. New Forest Activities at Beaulieu.

Best beach. Highcliffe Castle beach, Mudeford, and Avon Beach.
