Location ; What a beautiful spot for a New Forest cottage holiday. Oak Cottage is an attached period cottage set in the most idyllic of locations. Situated in the quieter and lesser known part of the New Forest, the small town of Fordingbridge is within 3 miles and the Cathedral City of Salisbury 11 miles.

Five minutes drive to the village of Wood Green which has a little shop and village pub, takes you past some spectacular far reaching views across the winding Avon river valley. Horse riding, fishing, and many other recreational activities are all close to hand and with fabulous walking country right on the doorstep. The beaches of Highcliffe Castle and Bournemouth are within easy reach, as is the Solent coastline, Lymington and Beaulieu.

The whole property is very light and airy, comfortably furnished in a antique style. It should be noted that the front door opens directly on to forest, so the ponies and foals tend to gather and shade right outside the kitchen window

Ground Floor The ground floor comprises of drawing room, with triple aspect, fireplace with woodburning stove and beamed ceiling.

The open plan kitchen has a dishwasher, electric hob and oven, under counter freezer box. The larder style fridge is located in the adjacent utility room alongside the washing machine and an additional butlers sink.

The open plan kitchen area leads through to a conservatory style dining room with views over the hills beyond the garden.

There is a downstairs cloakroom with WC and basin.

First Floor The cottage has four bedrooms, two doubles, 1 twin and 1 single bedroom.

The cottage style stairs lead up from the hall to a galleried landing.
The main double bedroom has a double bedstead, antique furniture and ensuite shower room. There are lovely views over the forest and to the fields behind the cottage.

The second double bedroom also has a double bedstead and benefits again from lovely views. In addition, there is a large skylight, ideal for watching the stars at night.

There ia a twin bedroom to the front of the cottage, and a small single bedroom, suitable for a child, with views over the garden. The family bathroom comprises bath, shower, wc and basin.

Outside you will find a south facing patio with brick built BBQ and garden furniture. The lower garden is accessed by steps and is attractively laid out with lawn, shrubs and flower beds.

Bed linen & towels supplied, could Mums bring their own cot bedding please.

High chair, travel cot & stairgate on request

Two small dogs accepted by arrangement, there is a charge of £25 for the second dog.

The owner respectfully requests no smoking guests only.
