Location; Plum Cottage is situated along a quiet lane in the village of Hyde on the unspoilt north west side of the New Forest. Four miles from the little riverside town of Fordingbridge and a similar distance to the market town of Ringwood and about 35 minutes drive to Bournemouth. Explore the forest tracks that radiate from Abbots Well and follow the stream through Latchmere Shade. Drop by the Foresters' pub for refreshment on the way home, or the tea rooms and village shop just moments from your garden gate. All in all a perfect spot for wildlife spotting and cycling plus a good touring point for discovering the New Forest region.

Property description; A pretty little cottage complete with 'nosey neighbours,' the wandering ponies and donkeys in the lane will keep an eye on the comings and goings at Plum Cottage. Newly renovated and furnished to a high standard with quality fixtures and fittings. Lovely in the summer and warm and cosy in the winter with a wood burning stove for snug evenings around the fire and the Rayburn in the kitchen making the whole cottage feel warm and welcoming after a brisk winter ramble. Perfect for drying those walking boots.

  • The front door; Leads in to the hall way with straight flight of stairs to first floor.
  • Sitting room; Comfy sofas, 32" flat screen TV with Sky. Wood burning stove.
  • Dining room; Dining table for four. Sofa, decorative fireplace.
  • Kitchen; Electric halogen hob and oven, dishwasher, micro wave, counter top freezer, tall clear fronted fridge. Oil fired Rayburn range ( always ticking over) providing hot water and central heating.
  • Cloakroom Low level WC and hand basin.
  • Utility room with back door. Washing machine and tumble drier.

FIRST FLOOR

  • Bedroom one; Double aspect room, 6ft. V spring mattress, 26" flat screen TV with Sky. All Sky works independantly on each cotttage TV. Single fitted wardrobe with cupboard above.
  • Bedroom two; One 4ft 6" bed under the eves, access on one side only. 3ft single bed, access form one side only. Chest, hanging space on landing, portable TV with Sky.
  • Bathroom; Slipper bath with hand held shower attachment. Quadrant shower cubicle with electric shower. WC and hand basin.

  • OUTSIDE;
    Parking for two cars in the drive. The garden is to the front of the property with a small lawned area, garden furniture, Charcoal BBQ.
  • Rental inclusive of ; Towels ( except beach towels) bed linen ( except cot linen) All utilities, logs . Four **** Visit Britain Gold Award. Arrival time 5.30pm. Departure time 12 midday.

Forest walking. Fabulous walking country starts right from the door step, whether for a half an hour gentle stroll or a serious ramble from Abbots Well right across to Lynwood and beyond.

Riding. Nearest stables BHS Fir Tree Farm at Ogdens. About five minute drive. Lessons, hacking.

Fishing. Rockbourne trout fishery Sandleheath, Fordingbridge.

Village shop and The Stables Tea Room, two minutes from the garden gate.

Recreation There is a BHS riding stables within a five minute drive, and also bike hire available at Godshill, a couple of miles from Plum Cottage.

Cycling tracks the designated off road cycle route from Frogham to Fritham and beyond is but a few moments from the cottage.

Golf courses. With two top class golf courses, Hamptworth and Bramshaw within a twenty five minute drive.

Local Shopping The small riverside town of Fordingbridge is about two miles away, offering a selection of independant shops, banks, Post Office and chemist plus a supermarket on the High Street.

Nearest Towns. Ringwood about five miles away, Waitrose,most Banks.( Market day, Wednesday) The Cathedral City of Salisbury (Market days, Saturday and Tuesday) and the beaches of Bournemouth are all within 35minutes drive.

Nearest railway stations. Southampton central, Salisbury, Brockenhurst.

Local Eating Ten minutes stroll minutes to the Foresters pub at Frogham. A short dirve to The Three Lions at Stucton, Little Mere Restaurant, North Gorley,The Royal Oak, North Gorley and The Old Beams at Ibsley.
