Location ; Welcome to Toms Corner, set in a elevated position within the six acre grounds of an Arts & Crafts country house. A stylish interior, offering a high level of comfort, yet very child friendly, with everything you could possibly need for a super holiday with a young family. Ponies in the lane, direct access to miles of open forest , about two miles to Minstead village & four miles to Lyndhurst.

Home to Poppet the Shetland pony and Walter the horse, they too enjoy the idyllic and peaceful New Forest lifestyle, offering guests the perfect retreat for a relaxing break away from it all, complete with a secluded and tranquil private garden that extends to an acre. The central location makes this holiday cottage an ideal base for exploring the whole of the New Forest region.

For the smaller guest, everything is to hand, travel cot, bed guard, high chair, stairgates, monitor, steriliser, plug covers, booster seat for the dining table,bath toys, childrens DVD's/CD's, bedtime story books, toys, tent, garden games, picnic set. beach towels, bucket & spades and bath toys.

For the grown-ups, you will find Wi Fi, a welcome pack with breakfast essentials, chocolates, first night bottle of wine, flowers, quality bathroom toiletries, adult towelling dressing gowns. On line grocery provisions accepted on your behalf on arrival day.

  • Bedroom two has two zip & link 3ft beds that can be combined to make a 6ft bed.
  • Family bathroom with shower over bath and wash basin. Seperate WC.

 

  • Garden path and a short flight of steps that lead up to the entrance door. This door opens to a hallway with stairs that lead up to the first floor landing.
  • Ground floor cloakroom with WC & basin
  • Kitchen, dining. Beautifully fiited out with Oak cabinets ,enjoying a double and side aspect. The kitchen window overlooks the garden and the valley beyond. Fitted with fridge, dishwasher, electric hob and oven, dining table & chairs.
  • The living room has comfortable sofas, oak flooring, with LCD TV & DVD
  • Garden level utility room with washer dryer and freezer. Just right for storing walking boots and bikes. Accessed by steps leading down from the entrance door.

Outside; The garden extends to about an acre, and benefits from being completely private with sunloungers, garden furniture and BBQ. Bordered by paddocks with views through the trees across the valley, a quiet spot to enjoy a good book.The entrance to the cottage is by a path from the parking area, up a short flight of steps to access the enclosed porch and front door.

Walking The open forest starts right from the top of the drive. A stroll down the lane leads to the beautiful open landscape known as Acres Down, with views across to the Isle of Wight. If you are feeling energetic, why not hire a bike from Acres Down farm and explore the off road forest cycle tracks .

Local eating; Three local pubs with food and gardens about 5 minutes drive from Toms Corner, The New Forest Inn at Emery Down and The Oak at Bank, or head for ta warm welcome in the Trusty Servant in Minstead village.

Nearest Shop, Minstead & Emery Down little village stores. Budgens small supermarket in Lyndhurst, post office, chemist and other little shops.

Nearest little towns. Lymington and Ringwood. Both about a 30 minute drive.

Nearest rail station, Southampton , Lyndhurst Road ( Ashurst) or Brockenhurst. Trains from Waterloo.

Recreation There are two excellent Golf Clubs close to hand, Bramshaw and Hamptworth.

Horse riding at Simms riding stables at Wootton. Western Riding at Burley Villa.

Fishing; Rockbourne Trout Fishery.

Bike hire from Cycle Ex at Brockenhurst.
