Enjoying a delightful position along a country lane in the village of Sway, this property offers guests a real flavour of village life with various shops and a local pub which provides an excellent spot for unwinding after a day spent exploring the New Forest. The surrounding countryside is so enchanting that it famously sparked the literary inspiration for the Victorian author’s Captain Myratt’s novel “Children of the New Forest.” The vibrant coastal town of Lymington is just a four-mile drive from the property and offers various independent shops, wine bars, restaurants and cafes. The property is easily accessible by both road and rail, with Sway station connecting guests to London.

The property embraces open-plan living with a welcoming farmhouse-style open plan kitchen lounge diner that’s fully equipped with all the essentials. A dining table is perfect for entertaining and the cosy lounge area is centred around a woodburner which makes the room a lovely spot for a night in with a DVD. On the ground floor there is also a cloakroom for those muddy boots and wet coats.

Upstairs there are two charming bedrooms which both feature wood floors that give them a wonderful feeling of warmth. The master bedroom contains a double bed with a memory foam mattress and there is a single bed nestled into an alcove. The bedroom has an en-suite with a shower over bath. The property’s second spacious bedroom consists of a king-size bed and there is also an en-suite with a large walk-in shower.

Outside there is a charming lawn and patio seating area that’s ideal for a BBQ and al-fresco dining. There is also a stable block at the bottom of the garden that’s available to store bikes.

We had a lovely stay at Border Cottage- the location is ideal for exploring the New Forest by foot, bike or car. The cottage is very comfortable, well equipped with everything we needed and a pretty garden which we enjoyed with our dog.

A wonderfully welcoming and comfortable cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there, and in the surrounding countryside with our two dogs. I'd definitely recommend this cottage.

Cottage is fabulous with a safe good sized garden for our 3 dogs. Excellent location and very well equipped. Good to have two off road parking spaces. Both bedrooms being en-suite was excellent.

Very pleased with the property. Well placed for the New Forest, but in a quiet spot. Clean, comfy and well equipped. Nice garden back and front - but terriers can get out of the front garden.

A lovely cottage with all the home comforts. Set in a beautiful village which is a great location for a holiday in The New Forest. Great walks from the village and plenty to do in the local area.

Second time we have stayed at this cottage, and it is still my favourite place to stay. It is very well equipped, bedding and towels are of a high quality, and the beds so comfortable. The cottage is beautifully warm + a wood burner, with all the wood and kindling supplied. Very dog friendly with a secure garden. Mandy the owner lives next door, a Read morereally charming helpful lady. Cake, milk & a bottle of wine awaited our arrival which was lovely. We will definitely be back. Hide

At last a cottage which felt like a home with excellent equipment . Ideally placed for visiting forest and coast . Owners next door made us feel very welcome and the cottage was beautifully decorated for Christmas and New Year.

This is a superb cottage in Sway Village, located in the New Forest near Lymington on the South Coast. The owner has created a prefect property with much thought and as many facilities as you can imagine. The kitchen has enough quality equipment to shame many other places we have been.

The cottage was in a really good location of the village with a local butcher, deli, co op and pub. We loved the woodburner and the peaceful area to where the cottage was. All our walks were within easy access of the accommodation. Will definitely be returning next yr.

Delightful cottage and very helpful owner (next door). Great location (close to the coast and local villages, walking distance to a great deli and a lovely local pub). We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The welcome gifts (wine, cake etc) were much appreciated. Our dog enjoyed the enclosed garden and country walks.

A lovely cottage with a nice dog-friendly garden. Railway station about ten minutes walk away, Nice pubs, deli, post office and Co-op. Plenty of hot water. Lots of places to visit. Parking good.
