About this New Forest holiday cottage:  sleeps 6 + cot, Four **** Visit Britain Gold Award.  Small dog by arrangement.  Livery and turn out available for your equine best friend.  Regret no other pets.  Friday arrival day.

A single level holiday cottage, light and bright, with the advantage of wheelchair access.  All newly renovated, decorated and furnished, with views over the adjacent paddocks.  Three bedrooms in total.  Two double bedrooms, both with shower room or wet room.  Twin bedroom and family bathroom. Drake Lodge is perfect for less-abled guests, with a ramped entrance, wide doors and spacious floor areas.  The en-suite wet room has wheelchair access, there are no steps into the shower.  The holiday accommodation is situated within the owners own grounds and is adjacent to the main house.

Beach Hut at Southbourne available for Drake Lodge guests.  Please enquire for details and prices.

Stabled livery and turn out paddock available on site for your equine best friends.  Up to three horses, lorry parking available, please enquire for details.

Location:  Bashley is a New Forest hamlet about three miles from the village of Sway.  Drake Lodge is set back from the Bashley to New Milton local road.  Less than a 1/4 of a mile down the road to the cattle grid and The Rising Sun pub, where the open forest stretches before you.  Go for a ramble or cycle for miles in Broadley and Setthorns enclosures.  If you prefer, forest side car parks are within a few minutes drive from Drake Lodge.  Close to Burley and Brockenhurst villages, Lymington and very well placed for accessing the local beaches of Mudeford and Highcliffe Castle, within a twenty minute drive.

Inside Drake Lodge:

• Access either directly in to the kitchen/living area, or through the front conservatory.  Ramp available.
• Kitchen area. Electric cooker, under counter fridge, under counter freezer.  Dishwasher, micro wave. Door to family bathroom with washing machine/dryer.
• Open plan to living area. Electric coal effect fire, 32" flat screen TV, DVD, CD radio.
• Through to the dining conservatory, with views over the paddocks.

Bedrooms:

Inner wide hallway leading from the living area to access;

• Twin bedroom. 19" wall mounted TV, 3ft wide beds, wardrobe.
• The 'Red bedroom'.  Standard double bed, en suite wet room (no shower enclosure) with aids for disabled use on request.  Both rooms have paddock views.

Front conservatory, doors to parking area, ramp available.  Wheel chair access.

• The ' Turquoise bedroom'.  Standard double bed, 19" wall mounted TV, wardrobe. Window overlooking paddocks. En suite shower room.

Outside:  To the front, designated parking for three cars.  To the side an enclosed drying area with rotary line.  Rear patio style garden, accessed through the dining conservatory.  Garden seating, gas BBQ.

Rental inclusive of:  All utilities, towels (exception of beach towels) and all bed linen (with the except of cot linen).  Rating 4 star.  Personally inspected.

One small dog by arrangement.  Regarding a dog staying at Drake Lodge, the owner requires a cautionary deposit please.  Do ask us for further details.

Nearest Shops. Sway Village, about three miles, butcher, chemist, village grocery shop.  New Milton for Tesco, Morrisons, Banks, chemists and smaller shops.

Nearest Towns.  The coastal Georgian town of Lymington is about five miles distant.  Lovely water side walks and cobbled Quay.  Lymington has a Charter market on a Saturday, a M&S food hall, plus there is a Waitrose and Tesco.

Nearest rail station.  Brockenhust, Sway.

Local eating:  Pubs - The Rising Sun Wootton, The Plough, Sway Road.  Restaurants - The Mill at Gordleton, The Nurses Cottage Sway.  Both a ten minute drive.  Brockenhurst is close by and has a good selection of restaurants - English, Thai, French, Indian and Chinese.

Farm shop.  Setley Ridge Farm Shop and Vineyard - about 2 miles out of Brockenhurst on the Lymington Road.  Lots of local goodies and wine tasting.  Danestream Farm Shop - Sway Road, New Milton.

Recreation.  Horse riding available at Burley Village Riding School, just oppposite Drake Lodge or Ford Farm Stables at Brockenhurst.

Bike hire:  from Country Lanes or Cycle Ex in Brockenhurst.
