Holmfield House forms the central part of a late Regency property.  It is beautifully decorated with all the appliances and 'mod cons' you could need on holiday.  'The location is perfect.  You can be walking in the forest with the ponies in 2 minutes and in Lyndhurst High Street in less than 1 minute.  Lyndhurst is the perfect location with plenty of places to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as delicious afternoon teas.  It was also a fantastic base to explore the New Forest and the South coast with so many places to visit and things to do all within 20-30mins drive.' Perfect for extended families with small children, with a secret playroom set under the eaves, complete with childrens books, games and dressing up box. Downstairs is a separate snug with TV and a DVD library suitable for all the family.  Perfect too for a group of friends escaping the city to explore the bike trails. With many New Forest wedding venues within a ten minute drive or within walking distance, Lime Wood, Terra Vina and Forest Lodge to name but a few, Holmfield offers spacious accommodation for your guests.

Location:  The central part of a country house with shared grounds and cottages.  Situated at the 'forest end' of Lyndhurst village, just a few moments walk from the hill known as 'Bolton's Bench', dotted with ponies and a good vantage point to view the local landscape; ideal for foal spotting in the spring and early summer.  Choose a track for a laid back stroll, take a picnic down to the water meadows, or simply enjoy watching the resident deer frolic in the garden.  The village High Street is also within minutes walk and first stop is Café Parisian, order an excellent cup of Lavazza after your morning ramble.  Lyndhurst offers a good selection of cafés, pubs and little shops only moments away from Holmfield House.  For the full local low down, click on 'On your Doorstep, the local area' above.

• Adjacent shower room, corner shower, WC, basin and towel rail.

Second floor:

• Reached by a smaller staircase, with a small wardrobe on the landing.
• Bedroom three, standard double bed, hanging rail and chest
• Bedroom four, standard single bed and chest.
• Bedroom five, small playroom with an additional single bed suitable for a child.

Outside:  Small private patio with table and chairs.  Spacious communal lawns, bordered by the village recreation field.  Parking for two cars, with additional parking within a few moments walk. The open forest is more or less on the doorstep, 145 square miles for you to call your own!

Rental inclusive of:  Bath towels (not beach) tea towels, bed linen, (apart from cot bedding) all utilities and logs in winter months.  NFL rating 4 star, personally inspected.

Forest Walking. Endless walks from across the road where the open New Forest stretches before you. A gentle amble or a full yomp to Brockenhurst or Beaulieu.

Nearest Shop.  Lyndhurst village, less than a five minute walk. A small Budgens, good butcher, chemist and numerous other small shops.

Local dining.  Lime Wood, a twenty minute stroll amongst the ponies, The Hotel Terra Vina, within a ten minute drive.  Plenty of choice within easy walking distance, Italian, Indian, Chinese, bar food, cafés.  The Pergola Italian Restaurant, less than a five minute walk away.

Nearest little towns.  Within a 25 minute drive, Lymington, set by the Solent, Marinas, cobbled quay and excellent saturday market. Isle of Wight ferry.  Big Town, Southampton, about a twenty minute drive from the cottage.

Nearest railway station, Southampton Central, Lyndhurst Road Station at Ashurst, or Brockenhurst.

Riding at Ford Farm Stables at Brockenhurst.

Golf.  At The New Forest Golf Club Lyndhurst, a five minute walk from Holmfield.  A short drive to Bramshaw and Hamptworth.

Bike hire.  From Country Lanes or Cycle Experience at Brockenhurst.  AA Bike hire Lyndhurst.  Access the extensive designated cycle tracks that radiate across the forest.

Worth a visit.  Furzey Gardens Minstead.  The New Forest Centre and Museum in Lyndhurst village.  Beaulieu, the Motor Museum and Palace House.  All open daily throughout the year.

Best beach.  Highcliffe Castle beach, Mudeford Quay and Avon Beach. Within a forty minute drive.
