Retreat to this exquisite cottage between Beaulieu and Bucklers Hard at the heart of the New Forest. Sleeping two adults, but with potential extra space for children, this pretty property looks out over open fields and is in a great location for both river and forest activities. Also welcoming one four-legged friend, it is ideal for anyone keen to embark on long walks through the surroundings.
Follow a small path up to this delightful reverse-level holiday home, which is set in the grounds of the owners’ property but enjoys its privacy. Find yourself in the inviting open-plan kitchen/diner, complete with a Nespresso coffee machine for leisurely mornings and a farmhouse table for jolly meals. Wander on through to the beautiful main bedroom, which has a super-king-size bed. The family bathroom is on this floor too. Climb the stairs up to the splendid, very spacious, lounge, with its scenic views and vaulted ceiling. Light the wood burner and unwind in front of the Smart TV. Find a sofa bed and an additional cabin with a porthole in here, which children will adore. Step out onto the balcony on warm days to absorb the rural vistas. There is also a handy utility area at this level, which contains the washing machine. Dine out in the garden on sunny days. You’ll also find parking for two cars at the cottage.
Take a water cruise or go kayaking on the Beaulieu River during your stay. Experience the shipbuilding history of Bucklers Hard as you pass. Drive or walk 2.5 miles to the Beaulieu estate to visit Beaulieu Abbey, the National Motor Museum and Palace House. Head 8 miles to Lymington to potter in the shops, book a table in a restaurant and perhaps head over to the Isle of Wight on the ferry.
