A comfortable retreat, set in attractive grounds near Fordingbridge in Hampshire, this delightful cottage is ideal for exploring the New Forest and South Coast. Sleeping five guests, and welcoming canine companions with open paws, it is set within the estate of an 18th-century manor house where guests have access to shared gardens overlooking the River Avon. Venture just 350 metres to find yourselves on the fringes of the beautiful National Park, where you can walk, cycle and take part in a range of other outdoor activities. Arrange a fishing permit with the owners of the three-bedroom cottage or take a ride through the trees on horseback at an equestrian centre just 1.5 miles away. Venture into Fordingbridge, less than 1 mile away, to meander in the shops and dine out. Head to the beach at Mudeford, 16.5 miles away, or plan a day out in bustling Southampton, 20.5 miles away.

Open the front door to your cottage and step inside to enjoy the comfort and space of this inviting holiday home. Amble inside via the entrance hall, where you can shed your footwear and hang your coats, then head on through to the heart of the cottage, an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. With ample room for everyone to relax, this friendly space features a wooden floor, soft leather seating and everything you will need to cater for yourselves during your stay. Store your groceries and whip up tasty meals over in the kitchen, with its ample wooden units and dark work surfaces on those occasions you choose not to dine out. Eat together at the round table and gather on the plush seating to play games or watch movies on the Smart TV. The family bathroom is also downstairs, together with a lovely double bedroom. A twin bedroom and a single are tucked under the eaves on the first floor, giving them a charming cottage style. A family shower room and a handy storage cupboard are at this level too.

Have afternoon tea out in your private, enclosed seating area after summer trips out. Enjoy a sundowner out here too on balmy evenings or wander over to the shared, grassy garden to cook on the BBQ and dine out in the fresh air, with your happy hound nearby. There is parking for two cars.

Very uncomfortable furniture and beds with the upstairs shower probably the smallest that we have ever seen. We were very disappointed as the description belies the reality. We have hired many cottages and this is by far the worst.
