Take to the water at Beaulieu River Nature Reserve (13.5 miles) with kayaks and canoes, or head to the activity centre 9 miles away to try tree-climbing, abseiling and zip wires. Golf, fishing and hiking opportunities are in abundance, and the chocolate-box villages are brimming with welcoming pubs and eateries.
