Set in the pretty village of Downton just 3 miles from the edge of the New Forest, this wonderful annexe is adjacent to the owner’s property, yet you still have privacy. Bright and airy with a contemporary style, this holiday home has plenty of space to relax with its open-plan interior but is also ideal for a couple looking to get out and explore the stunning area. Head off to Breamore House (4 miles) for a stroll around the grounds or marvel at Salisbury Cathedral (7 miles).
As soon as you step inside the property, you’re welcomed by a large open-plan living area that’s filled with light thanks to large French doors that look out onto the garden. After a day out walking or cycling, rustle up your favourite meal in the stylish kitchen and eat at the table before heading outside for al fresco drinks. In the evening, snuggle up on the sofa in front of the TV for a couple of hours before heading up the spiral staircase to the first floor where a comfortable double bedroom awaits you - just watch your head in the eaves! Wake up refreshed and ready to take on the day, taking an invigorating shower in the contemporary en-suite shower room.
Not only is there a pub less than 200 metres from the annexe, but craft beer lovers can pick up local ales from the Hop Back Brewery (1 mile). But there’s so much more to do, including visiting Stonehenge (17 miles) and the charming village of Beaulieu (22 miles). If you need to get stuck into a good walk, there’s a leisurely 3.25-mile circular route starting from Godshill Cricket Pitch (6 miles), or the more challenging Ashley Walk that takes you through open heathland as well as ancient and ornamental woodland.
