Property code: OC-56823

A quirky, former Methodist chapel, this property boasts superb access to the New Forest National Park. Ideal for families and friends, nature-lovers and keen walkers are afforded the most idyllic base from which to explore by day and relax by night. Sleeping four people across two bedrooms and with room for your two dogs, embrace the chance to get away from it all and lose yourself to tranquillity.

Ditch muddy boots and wipe paws in the entrance's utility room and head inside. If you've spent a day walking, the bathroom (located just opposite the utility) has a bath, perfect for soaking aching muscles and unwinding. For a brisk start to your day, there is a separate shower too. Further inside the property, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner takes pride of place. Here, tall ceilings lend a sense of grandeur, complemented by underfloor heating that in winter adds an especially cosy dimension. Pad over to the kitchen and begin culinary preparations for your evening meal; everything has been provided to help you create meals like you would at home. Clink glasses around the dining table and later let the dishwasher take care of the washing up. From the comfortable lounge, two staircases lead to separate galleried mezzanine bedrooms with privacy screens: a king-size and a twin. On summer days, you will find eating alfresco a tempting proposition most evenings, making good use of the garden furniture.

Located within the New Forest, beautiful scenic walks are in abundance. Pick up one of the many trails nearby and wander below emerald canopies, accompanied by birdsong and the gentle crunch of your boots. For supplies, Woodgreen village itself has a shop and a pub (only a few hundred yards away), whilst Fordingbridge (3.5 miles) and Ringwood (9.6 miles) are home to cafes, shops and restaurants.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 king-size and 1 twin (both on mezzanine overlooking the lounge area) with privacy screens

Characterful conversion of a chapel with its friendly and helpful owner nearby. Excellent pub and well stocked community shop within walking distance (around 5 mins and 10 mins stroll respectively). Donkeys seen wandering past the front door. Quick and easy direct access into the forest on foot or by car.

The cottage design is lovely. It's in a fabulous location within the forest, there is designated car parking and a 5 minute walk away is the Horse and Groom pub. With a little bit of money spent on the content, the cottage would go from mediocre to wonderful.

Lovely place to stay whilst exploring the New Forest. Unfortunately I think that I would have been more comfortable sleeping on a roll mat in a tent than in bed at the old chapel. Very comfortable sofa to sleep on though

A fantastic place to stay with forest walks on your doorstep, a well stocked village shop, a great and reasonably priced local pub that has quality food, 2 miles to nearest fuel and a super friendly and helpful host. Sit out front and watch the ponies amble by in the evening or in privcy out the back. Our dogs loved their stay.
