A perfect location and a beautiful cottage. Quirky features like the narrow low beamed staircase we loved, but may not suit someone with mobility issues. The sitting room with the television in, is spacious and comfortable and the dining room also has plenty of room for family meals. The bedrooms were pretty and the beds were comfortable. The encloRead moresed garden is a lovely area with both sunny and shady spots. We would love to stay there again. Hide

We had a wonderful time at Bench Cottage, the location is great just on the edge of the forest, 5 minutes walk to the high street and close to Beaulieu, Brockenhurst and Lymington by car. The cottage has everything that is required for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We would definitely go back.

Bench Cottage is beautiful, we loved staying here. It is really close to Lyndhurst, shops, restaurants (5 minute walk) which is ideal but also tucked away overlooking the green. The cottage has lots of character and we had such a great time but wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you

A lovely detached cottage in an ideal location in the middle of the New Forest. The cottage itself is beautiful with plenty of space having been 2 cottages knocked into one. The original stairs are quite steep which could be an issue if you struggle with them normally. Even close to the town we found it very quiet. There are local shops, a Co-op anRead mored Tesco Extra plus plenty of places to eat and drink within 10 minutes walk from the cottage. Would happily stay here again. Hide

This cottage is ideally placed. Its very close to Lyndhurst village and the ponies and cows visit to the front of the cottage several times during the day. There are some lovely walks directly from the cottage without having to use the car.

If you’re after a holiday destination which has natural wonders and British tradition in abundance, look no further than the New Forest – a region where beautiful heathland, forest trails and stunning coastline surround quaint villages and market towns.

The National Park is found on England’s south coast, covering the south west of Hampshire but extending into Wiltshire and Dorset. It’s known for its picturesque footpaths and cycle trails, from which you can witness the spectacular sights of deer, ponies and cattle roaming free throughout the ancient woodland.

The villages of Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst and Buckler’s Hard have plenty of traditional, cosy pubs in which you can enjoy some locally-brewed cider or beer. Or, if you wanted something a little livelier, Hythe, Lymington and New Milton run fantastic weekly markets, while the lively city of Southampton is a drive away.

If you prefer coast over country, a visit to the shoreline is a must. Highlights include the Barton-on-Sea cliffs, Lymington Quay, and the Beaulieu River, where adventurous activities including canoeing await. There are plenty of other great things to do, too, with the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, Breamore House and Museum near Fordingbridge, and Exbury Gardens all found around the region.
