This private wood-clad hideaway, set amongst the trees, is perfect for those who love the outdoors and being surrounded by wildlife. Wake up to the sound of birds singing and take a leisurely stroll along the banks of the river, before enjoying a romantic breakfast together on the raised decked area. Follow the riverside footpath further and you’ll discover the historic shipbuilding hamlet of Buckler’s Hard (2 miles), with its stunning Georgian houses and fascinating maritime museum.

Follow a shared gravel track to the property, which is set on stilts. On the ground floor, you’ll find handy storage for bikes and from here a flight of steps lead to the entrance. The luxurious lounge has a vaulted ceiling and large windows which fill the space with natural light. A strong woodland theme runs throughout the property, acting as a constant reminder of your fabulous location. After a day of exploring, snuggle together on the sofa in front of the roaring wood burner. Beaulieu, meaning ‘beautiful place’, really is one of the New Forest’s hidden gems. You’ll find plenty to do in the picturesque 13th-century village; potter along the high street with its cute boutiques and quaint tea rooms, enjoy a picnic on the banks of the river and explore the impressive grounds of Palace House. Within the grounds you’ll also find the National Motor Museum, which houses a collection of 250 vehicles including those from the worlds of racing and motorsport. Exbury Gardens and Steam Railway (5 miles) also makes a delightful day out; wander through the colourful, themed gardens before taking a ride on the steam railway.

The cabin was fantastic, the kitchen extremely well stocked with utencils pots and pans, meticulously clean with cleaning products provided. The bed I could take home as the comfort was amazing. The cabin was set around several others although lots of privacy from the trees. It's not as quiet as we hoped for as there is a path that runs at the backRead more of the cabin and a activity center close so people are heard when sat on the veranda but it was bank holiday, walks are plentiful and beautiful. Treehouse in great location, quiet & peaceful. Wish Id had a house overlooking the river though! Welcome hamper a nice treat & appreciated. Everything included in house that you could possibly need. Bonus having a car parking permit to use; we didnt have to pay for parking anywhere, all week! Also appreciated the complimentary pass to Bucklers HardRead more. Well worth a visit, especially if weather good, as ours was. We had a lovely stay in the New Forest. Hide

Perfect place to relax, and very comfortable accommodation. Only downside was that we had to drive for a decent forest walk as there is fencing along river front and woodland near property so habitat could recover. Understandable but we wouldn't have stayed here if we had known we had to keep to gravel path.

The holiday cottage is situated in a beautiful part of the new forest with the picture postcard bucklers hard, and beaulieu, easily reachable by foot. The accommodation is a stilt build with the living quarters in amongst the trees, staying at this level with the peace and quiet make it a very relaxing place to be. This was our first visit to the NRead moreew Forest and it's truly enchanting, witnessing the wild ponies and pigs roaming free was great to see, i hope we can make a return visit. Hide

The Crow's Nest was a great base for days out biking & walking: we loved being up among the trees, watching territorial squirrels fighting, hearing an owl hooting every evening & being woken by the sound of curlews. If you’re after a holiday destination which has natural wonders and British tradition in abundance, look no further than the New Forest – a region where beautiful heathland, forest trails and stunning coastline surround quaint villages and market towns.

The National Park is found on England’s south coast, covering the south west of Hampshire but extending into Wiltshire and Dorset. It’s known for its picturesque footpaths and cycle trails, from which you can witness the spectacular sights of deer, ponies and cattle roaming free throughout the ancient woodland.

The villages of Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst and Buckler’s Hard have plenty of traditional, cosy pubs in which you can enjoy some locally-brewed cider or beer. Or, if you wanted something a little livelier, Hythe, Lymington and New Milton run fantastic weekly markets, while the lively city of Southampton is a drive away.

If you prefer coast over country, a visit to the shoreline is a must. Highlights include the Barton-on-Sea cliffs, Lymington Quay, and the Beaulieu River, where adventurous activities including canoeing await. There are plenty of other great things to do, too, with the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, Breamore House and Museum near Fordingbridge, and Exbury Gardens all found around the region.
