Enjoy a unique stay in boutique hotel-style accommodation at this bijou holiday home for two beside the Beaulieu River. Originally built as a bathhouse for the great and the good to take the waters, this historic thatched property makes a great base from which to explore the New Forest, indulge in water sports and simply gaze out across the water. Enjoy the pretty gardens and covered veranda and take one canine companion with you, if you choose.

Approach the 18th-century property through a boatyard and via a shared driveway. Follow the path into the exquisite house and find yourself in the modern kitchen, where there’s a step up into the bathroom. Enjoy a romantic dinner at the table in the large lounge then relax in front of the Smart TV or listen to the Bluetooth radio. Make your way through to the charming double bedroom as night falls. Step out into the cottage gardens on warm days to enjoy meals out in the fresh air and sunshine. There’s also a handy outside utility room, with a washing machine and tumble dryer. The cottage sits right in the middle of its pretty gardens, which include an unenclosed pond where guests should keep an eye on children and dogs. There is parking approximately 100 metres from the cottage.

Grab your rucksack and head straight off on forest walks and cycle rides from the cottage. Enjoy canoeing or kayaking on the river or drive 3 miles to the Beaulieu Estate to spend time at Beaulieu Abbey. Visit the National Motor Museum and Palace House while you are there. Or, venture 8.5 miles to visit the market town of Lymington and book a trip over to the Isle of Wight.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

A beautiful picturesque peaceful location and a good starting point to explore the area. Our dog loved the garden even more that we did. Can highly recommend the cottage, trips to Milford on Sea and Lepe along with dinner at the Forest Park Hotel in Brockenhurst (which is dog friendly too)

A lovely and well located cottage with everything that you need for a comfortable stay. However, the enclosed and beautiful very large garden has lots of rabbits, so owners of dogs that like to fixate, bark and chase need to be careful as the wire fencing is low and loose in places. This is a beautiful cottage in the most idyllic location. The footpath at the front can be busy, and with a lot of people admiring the cottage, however don't let this put you off as the cottage is set in around 3/4 of an acre there is always somewhere quiet to relax.

If you’re after a holiday destination which has natural wonders and British tradition in abundance, look no further than the New Forest – a region where beautiful heathland, forest trails and stunning coastline surround quaint villages and market towns.

The National Park is found on England’s south coast, covering the south west of Hampshire but extending into Wiltshire and Dorset. It’s known for its picturesque footpaths and cycle trails, from which you can witness the spectacular sights of deer, ponies and cattle roaming free throughout the ancient woodland.

The villages of Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst and Buckler’s Hard have plenty of traditional, cosy pubs in which you can enjoy some locally-brewed cider or beer. Or, if you wanted something a little livelier, Hythe, Lymington and New Milton run fantastic weekly markets, while the lively city of Southampton is a drive away.

If you prefer coast over country, a visit to the shoreline is a must. Highlights include the Barton-on-Sea cliffs, Lymington Quay, and the Beaulieu River, where adventurous activities including canoeing await. There are plenty of other great things to do, too, with the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, Breamore House and Museum near Fordingbridge, and Exbury Gardens all found around the region.
