A characterful cottage set on the edge of a popular national park, a restful retreat. This is the perfect place for families and dogs.

This charming thatched cottage situated on the edge of the New Forest makes an ideal location for a family holiday. Whether on horseback, bike or on foot, the New Forest provides over 100 miles of off-road trails through the ancient woodland and heath. The nearby towns and villages provide a variety of independent shops, museums, art galleries and cafés to visit, whilst the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu and the historic hamlet of Buckler’s Hard make for a great day out. If it’s a family theme park you’re looking for, Paultons Park, home of Peppa Pig World, is where you’ll find over 70 rides and attractions. After a full day of exploring, you’re spoilt for choice for places to eat, with a variety of family and pet friendly pubs and restaurants to enjoy nearby.

Enter the cottage through a lovely stable style door into an inviting entrance hall. On your right, a beautifully equipped kitchen, complete with AGA, electric hob/oven, microwave, a large American style fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Just off the kitchen, the dining area contains a large table and ample seating for the whole group to gather and socialise. Exit the dining area through double patio doors and you find yourself in a covered courtyard where an additional table and seating make this an ideal area for al fresco dining/entertaining. Just off the rear of the kitchen, through a short corridor, is the master double bedroom. This room also has double patio doors leading out to the covered courtyard. Adjacent to the master bedroom is a bathroom containing walk-in shower, bath, sink and WC. Turning left from the entrance hall you enter a comfortable lounge with cosy seating and an open log fire, a great place to retreat to after a long day exploring the beauty of the New Forest. Another ground floor double bedroom can be found just beyond the lounge together with a wet room with shower and WC. The ‘snug’ is a cosy room in which to curl up in front of the TV and also provides access to the south facing patio and pool area. Head upstairs to the first floor and you will find a twin bedroom and another double bedroom with a beautiful en-suite bathroom containing a free-standing bath and WC. Both bedrooms on the first floor have great views over the garden and pool area to the rear of the property.

An outdoor heated swimming pool, available between April and October, can be found at the rear of the cottage, within the enclosed garden comprising of borders and lawn. A sunny south facing patio provides an ideal spot in which to relax and enjoy your surroundings. The cottage is approached via a wide gravelled driveway that benefits parking for up to three cars. An electric vehicle charging point is also available

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

If you’re after a holiday destination which has natural wonders and British tradition in abundance, look no further than the New Forest – a region where beautiful heathland, forest trails and stunning coastline surround quaint villages and market towns.

The National Park is found on England’s south coast, covering the south west of Hampshire but extending into Wiltshire and Dorset. It’s known for its picturesque footpaths and cycle trails, from which you can witness the spectacular sights of deer, ponies and cattle roaming free throughout the ancient woodland.

The villages of Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst and Buckler’s Hard have plenty of traditional, cosy pubs in which you can enjoy some locally-brewed cider or beer. Or, if you wanted something a little livelier, Hythe, Lymington and New Milton run fantastic weekly markets, while the lively city of Southampton is a drive away.

If you prefer coast over country, a visit to the shoreline is a must. Highlights include the Barton-on-Sea cliffs, Lymington Quay, and the Beaulieu River, where adventurous activities including canoeing await. There are plenty of other great things to do, too, with the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, Breamore House and Museum near Fordingbridge, and Exbury Gardens all found around the region.
