The cottage was very pleasant as it was but since the owners have added an ensuite to the main bedroom and a relaxation area to the second bedroom, they have managed to add an extra dimension to the cottage .

The close proximity to the actual New Forest, about 100 yards in one direction is amazingly inviting and the proximity of a very friendly pub restaurant with excellent meals is even closer.

We had a lovely time at the bungalow, it has a homely feel which is a pleasant change to most holiday rentals we have stayed in and is very spacious. The position is idyllic, so quiet, just what you need for a relaxing holiday. The owners are very pleasant and any problems that occur they are very eager to help.

Location

If you’re after a holiday destination which has natural wonders and British tradition in abundance, look no further than the New Forest – a region where beautiful heathland, forest trails and stunning coastline surround quaint villages and market towns.

The National Park is found on England’s south coast, covering the south west of Hampshire but extending into Wiltshire and Dorset. It’s known for its picturesque footpaths and cycle trails, from which you can witness the spectacular sights of deer, ponies and cattle roaming free throughout the ancient woodland.

The villages of Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst and Buckler’s Hard have plenty of traditional, cosy pubs in which you can enjoy some locally-brewed cider or beer. Or, if you wanted something a little livelier, Hythe, Lymington and New Milton run fantastic weekly markets, while the lively city of Southampton is a drive away.

If you prefer coast over country, a visit to the shoreline is a must. Highlights include the Barton-on-Sea cliffs, Lymington Quay, and the Beaulieu River, where adventurous activities including canoeing await. There are plenty of other great things to do, too, with the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, Breamore House and Museum near Fordingbridge, and Exbury Gardens all found around the region.
