This accomodation is part of a big old house with neighbours close by. However it is a very quiet location despite being literally on the edge of town. The garden is relaxing with deer often seen roaming the grounds. The rooms are adequate, but I'd say 6 people max or it could be quite crowded, esp in kitchen/dining room. Holmfield house was perfect for our stay in the New Forest. It was ideally located just next to the main high street but at the same time not far from the forest and walking trails. The house itself was lovely, very spacious and more than enough room for a group of 7 adults. Would highly recommend.

If you’re after a holiday destination which has natural wonders and British tradition in abundance, look no further than the New Forest – a region where beautiful heathland, forest trails and stunning coastline surround quaint villages and market towns.

The National Park is found on England’s south coast, covering the south west of Hampshire but extending into Wiltshire and Dorset. It’s known for its picturesque footpaths and cycle trails, from which you can witness the spectacular sights of deer, ponies and cattle roaming free throughout the ancient woodland.

The villages of Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst and Buckler’s Hard have plenty of traditional, cosy pubs in which you can enjoy some locally-brewed cider or beer. Or, if you wanted something a little livelier, Hythe, Lymington and New Milton run fantastic weekly markets, while the lively city of Southampton is a drive away.

If you prefer coast over country, a visit to the shoreline is a must. Highlights include the Barton-on-Sea cliffs, Lymington Quay, and the Beaulieu River, where adventurous activities including canoeing await. There are plenty of other great things to do, too, with the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, Breamore House and Museum near Fordingbridge, and Exbury Gardens all found around the region.
