A charming cottage with a wood burner and garden, centrally located in this pretty coastal village. Located a stones’ throw from the beach and amenities, it’s the perfect spot for a relaxing holiday.

Set in the heart of the coastal village of Milford-on-Sea, this former fisherman’s cottage is perfect for exploring the South Coast as well as the nearby New Forest. Found on a pretty terrace in the middle of the village, you’re just a short walk from a choice of pubs, shops and restaurants, as well as the pebble beach, which enjoys views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight. Lymington, a popular harbour town, is located just three miles away, and is a haven for watersports, with its lively marina. The New Forest National Park also lies close by, where miles of great walking and cycling trails can be found.

Follow the path leading around the side of the property, where you’ll find the main door, which opens into the cosy snug, with access to the lounge on the left and access to the kitchen/diner on the right. The lounge is the perfect place to enjoy a great night in, as you curl up next to the wood burner and watch a film on the TV/DVD. Meanwhile, the kitchen/diner has seating for four, enjoying views out to the garden through the large window and door, as well as all the equipment you need to fully enjoy your stay here: a range-style electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. In the adjacent utility area, you can find the washing machine and tumble dryer, leading through to a wet room with a shower and WC. Heading upstairs from the snug via steep cottage-style stairs, with restricted head height in places, you’ll find the two bedrooms: a twin and a double. The double bedroom benefits from an open-plan en-suite, with a freestanding slipper bath and WC.

Venturing outside from the kitchen/diner, you’ll find the pretty private garden, comprising of a small patio with steps leading up to a lawn area. With garden furniture and a summerhouse, it’s the perfect place to unwind with a drink or enjoy a meal outdoors. An allocated off-road parking space for one car is available opposite the property.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

We really enjoyed our stay at this pretty and well-positioned cottage. No details had been overlooked and we had an extremely comfortable time. We came as a single couple but we often rent properties with our friends as well. Although it is more suited for a small family than two couples, there is enough room for everybody. The parking space was peRead morerfectly positioned. Local pubs and restaurants were close at hand and within easy walking distance. Hassle-free and highly recommended. Hide

We loved Joyful Cottage. It was beautiful and cosy. It was in a great location only 5/10 minutes to the sea, and close to the local shops. Sitting in the cosy snug living room with the log burner burning away after a dog walk along the beach or a busy day exploring all the neighbouring new forest was heaven.

Lovely welcome touches and goods added for your arrival. Convenient amenities close to cottage; wetland reserve and beach within walking distance, and New Forest not far. We suggest you detour by New Milton in the summer to avoid the Lymington traffic crush!

If you’re after a holiday destination which has natural wonders and British tradition in abundance, look no further than the New Forest – a region where beautiful heathland, forest trails and stunning coastline surround quaint villages and market towns.

The National Park is found on England’s south coast, covering the south west of Hampshire but extending into Wiltshire and Dorset. It’s known for its picturesque footpaths and cycle trails, from which you can witness the spectacular sights of deer, ponies and cattle roaming free throughout the ancient woodland.

The villages of Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst and Buckler’s Hard have plenty of traditional, cosy pubs in which you can enjoy some locally-brewed cider or beer. Or, if you wanted something a little livelier, Hythe, Lymington and New Milton run fantastic weekly markets, while the lively city of Southampton is a drive away.

If you prefer coast over country, a visit to the shoreline is a must. Highlights include the Barton-on-Sea cliffs, Lymington Quay, and the Beaulieu River, where adventurous activities including canoeing await. There are plenty of other great things to do, too, with the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, Breamore House and Museum near Fordingbridge, and Exbury Gardens all found around the region.
