A wonderful opportunity to stay in this beautiful cottage, in a truly unique position in the New Forest, a great place for a family getaway.

Lose yourselves in the magnificent New Forest when you book a stay at this holiday home at Burley in Hampshire. The delightful village, which has pubs, cafes and independent shops, is known for its roaming ponies and cattle. Welcoming six guests in three bedrooms, the single-storey cottage is ideal for long leafy walks and cycle rides, as well as days out to the coast and even trips over to the Isle of Wight.

Drive into this property over a cattle-grid which keeps the ponies out. Step in and follow the hall, where there is a ground-floor WC, into the bright, modern kitchen. Prepare meals for your party here and then serve them up in the open-plan lounge/diner, where there are doors on to the garden. Relax on the sofa to watch the Smart TV. The family bathroom, with shower over the bath, and all the bedrooms are off the hallway. There is a bunk room with small doubles, plus two king-size rooms, one with an en-suite shower room. Relax out in the lawned garden on warm days or wander straight out into the forest from the property. Find ample parking for several cars on the driveway.

Lace up your walking boots and find myriad routes, including the Burley Trail, through the woodland and heathland. Hire bikes, take a wagon ride or go on a deer safari. Visit Milford on Sea, 10 miles away, to picnic on the beach and swim in the sea. Enjoy the views over to the Isle of Wight. Have a day out to Bournemouth, 14 miles away, or catch the ferry over to the Isle of Wight from Lymington, 10 miles away.

A beautiful bungalow. Peaceful on the grounds, with the village a stones throw away made it the perfect location for us.

Really enjoyed our stay. The property was in a perfect location, and very comfortable. We were six adults staying for just 3 nights, so two of us slept in the bunk beds which were also roomy and comfortable. The only slight drawback for six adults is that there is only one proper shower in the en-suite. The bath has a shower attachment.

We booked this cottage last minute after Center Parcs cancelled our stay with less than 24 hours to go! We are so pleased we did as the cottage is beautiful, clean, well located for Burley and other New Forest hot spots so ideal for our group (4x adults, 2x kids). What a lovely, comfy cottage in a perfect location. It feels very private but at the same time you are only a few moments walk from the centre of Burley. We had a wonderful week.

great loaction, first appearance good , nice and clean etc. but there is only the one sofa and that is VERY uncomfortable and hurts your back probably OK for children other than that there is only one armchair or benches for the dinning table. The bath is too narrow and not deep enough for adults and no way too stop the water going onto the floor iRead moref you use the shower attachment. two of the toilet seats need attention and a mat inside the doors onto the decking would be good. otherwise 5 star. We would endorse the previous 3 reviews. A lovely stay in this delightful property which we intend to rebook for next year. The beds were really comfortable and we loved the layout of the whole cottage, particularly the lounge dining area which was perfect for our group of 6. I thought the kitchen might feel a little isolated but it really wasn't. Read moreWe were lucky enough to have 3 meals outside despite the rather mixed weather. If you’re after a holiday destination which has natural wonders and British tradition in abundance, look no further than the New Forest – a region where beautiful heathland, forest trails and stunning coastline surround quaint villages and market towns.

The National Park is found on England’s south coast, covering the south west of Hampshire but extending into Wiltshire and Dorset. It’s known for its picturesque footpaths and cycle trails, from which you can witness the spectacular sights of deer, ponies and cattle roaming free throughout the ancient woodland.

The villages of Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst and Buckler’s Hard have plenty of traditional, cosy pubs in which you can enjoy some locally-brewed cider or beer. Or, if you wanted something a little livelier, Hythe, Lymington and New Milton run fantastic weekly markets, while the lively city of Southampton is a drive away.

If you prefer coast over country, a visit to the shoreline is a must. Highlights include the Barton-on-Sea cliffs, Lymington Quay, and the Beaulieu River, where adventurous activities including canoeing await. There are plenty of other great things to do, too, with the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, Breamore House and Museum near Fordingbridge, and Exbury Gardens all found around the region.
