Situated just outside the village of Buckler’s Hard, the property offers extensive walking trails through the New Forest. After a day spent hiking or canoeing the river at Beaulieu, guests can return to the local pub for a quiet drink and to rest those aching legs. A relaxing afternoon can also be spent meandering through the picturesque village of Beaulieu. The vibrant coastal town of Lymington has an array of independent shops, bars and cafes which are worth exploring, or guests can take a ferry to the Isle of Wight for an afternoon of walking. The property comes with free passes for Buckler’s Hard Story and Maritime Museum, ensuring that there is never a dull moment.

The charming accommodation has a wonderful open-plan living area with a country style kitchen at one end and a main lounge area in the middle. The kitchen is well equipped with all the essentials and there is a dining table and chairs for entertaining. From the lounge’s double doors guests can enjoy the enchanting views across the terrace and lake or enjoy curling up and watching a DVD on those rainy afternoons. Wooden floors throughout the property add to the sense of warmth and cosiness. The spacious suite style bedroom contains a king-size bed and is a wonderful room for a peaceful night. The property’s bathroom is a good size and consists of a bath and a separate shower.

Outside the property there is a lovely decked area that makes a great spot for some al fresco dining on balmy summer evenings. Guests can relax on the lawns that surround the property and watch the New Forest ponies which like to meander through the lane.

A lovely quiet, dog friendly property in an ideal location. A 10 minute stroll to Bucklers Hard, then another couple of miles to Beaulieu on a good, dog friendly path. Within easy reach of Exbury Gardens, Lymington and Lepe Country Park and beach.

This is the 5th time we have been and it always feels lovely,geese,ducks ,heron on the lake and then the herd of deer coming very close and of course the pheasants. Perfect location for our weekend break. Everything we needed. A lovely hamper was left for us which was very much appreciated. Very clean and warm. Dog friendly as completely fenced in which was perfect for our small dog. Would definitely stay again and would highly recommend.

Beautiful and peaceful, lovely rural part of New Forest, but really convenient for most places especially Beaulieu and Bucklers hard. Many hours spent watching life on the pond, were especially thrilled to see the Kingfisher, and a Raven! Duck fights daily and really stupid but gorgeous pheasants. A very comfortable cottage in a fabulous location. The views and wildlife on the doorstep were stunning. Lovely walk to Bucklers Hard and Beaulieu from the cottage. Really appreciated the very nice welcome hamper.

This property is beautifully presented and has been well thought through to provide comfort in a wonderfully peaceful setting. We especially enjoyed the outside seating platform enabling us to observe the huge variety of wildlife. Such a perfect place to stay, peaceful and relaxing. Well equipped for eating in but close to lots of pubs for eating out. We walked to Bucklers Hard and Beaulieu and had some amazing walks surrounded by ponies, donkeys and cows. The beach is only a short drive away also. Great location.

A very well thought out property. Everything in it you could possibly need. Great views over the lake where we saw deer, hares and many different birds. Another big plus is that the garden is totally enclosed and safe for our dog.

The Old Post Office was the most lovely place for two people to stay. The location was great for visiting Bucklers Hard, the Motor museum, Beaulieu and the coast. We loved how peaceful it was and the wildlife was amazing. We spent lots of time on the decking watching the deer and birds. Everything was perfect.

The accommodation was perfect inside and out. Cupboard space for food, clothes etc, comfortable sofas tables and chairs, and bed, wonderful bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. Lots of room for us and our medium sized dog. 100% loved it all.

The Old Telephone Exchange is a hidden gem and in a perfect location. Well equipped and clean. The "little" touch of welcome basic food products was well received. We will be going back next year. Had a lovely time.

This was a magical place to stay, so peaceful. The cottage was equipped to the highest standard and the welcome hamper was a real treat, even included treats for the dog. We found some lovely New Forest walks that were accessible to me in my wheelchair, as was Bucklers Hard.

If you looking to enjoy the view from the cottage, you will not really be able to see the lake and most of the wildlife require binoculars provided. Photos on web very misleading re view. Heating hard to fathom, as was DVD. Tea coffee sugar loo roll provided, no toiletries just hand soap, plenty of cleaning products though.
