This is a really lovely well kept cottage in a great location for from the door walks. We had lots of days where we left the car on the drive and went exploring.

Nice small cottage. Walks direct from the door are amazing. Sadly, although dog friendly, the garden is not enclosed.

A very comfortable and pleasant barn conversion. Everything (with the exception of food) we could possibly need was provided. Set in a quite country village but only3 miles to the nearest town. If you venture to the local village pub remember to take a torch as the walk back is on the main village lane with no street lights. Hide

Location

If you’re after a holiday destination which has natural wonders and British tradition in abundance, look no further than the New Forest – a region where beautiful heathland, forest trails and stunning coastline surround quaint villages and market towns.

The National Park is found on England’s south coast, covering the south west of Hampshire but extending into Wiltshire and Dorset. It’s known for its picturesque footpaths and cycle trails, from which you can witness the spectacular sights of deer, ponies and cattle roaming free throughout the ancient woodland.

The villages of Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst and Buckler’s Hard have plenty of traditional, cosy pubs in which you can enjoy some locally-brewed cider or beer. Or, if you wanted something a little livelier, Hythe, Lymington and New Milton run fantastic weekly markets, while the lively city of Southampton is a drive away.

If you prefer coast over country, a visit to the shoreline is a must. Highlights include the Barton-on-Sea cliffs, Lymington Quay, and the Beaulieu River, where adventurous activities including canoeing await. There are plenty of other great things to do, too, with the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, Breamore House and Museum near Fordingbridge, and Exbury Gardens all found around the region.
