Very light! comfortable and dog friendly. Very impressed by the variety and large assortment of books, maps, games, dvds & cds for children and adults. The welcome basket including wine and dog treats was just great!

This was our first mini break with our dog. The cottage had everything we needed for a weekend touring The New Forest. The children were pleased with the games selection and delighted with the welcome basket of cake, biscuits, dog treats, milk and wine! The arrival and departure details were very easy to follow.

Location

If you’re after a holiday destination which has natural wonders and British tradition in abundance, look no further than the New Forest – a region where beautiful heathland, forest trails and stunning coastline surround quaint villages and market towns.

The National Park is found on England’s south coast, covering the south west of Hampshire but extending into Wiltshire and Dorset. It’s known for its picturesque footpaths and cycle trails, from which you can witness the spectacular sights of deer, ponies and cattle roaming free throughout the ancient woodland.

The villages of Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst and Buckler’s Hard have plenty of traditional, cosy pubs in which you can enjoy some locally-brewed cider or beer. Or, if you wanted something a little livelier, Hythe, Lymington and New Milton run fantastic weekly markets, while the lively city of Southampton is a drive away.

If you prefer coast over country, a visit to the shoreline is a must. Highlights include the Barton-on-Sea cliffs, Lymington Quay, and the Beaulieu River, where adventurous activities including canoeing await. There are plenty of other great things to do, too, with the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, Breamore House and Museum near Fordingbridge, and Exbury Gardens all found around the region.
