This beautifully restored period cottage, which retains character and charm, is situated on a country lane a short walk to the foreshore where you can watch the sailing boats go by as the sun goes down.

Located just over the river a short drive from the lively harbour town of Lymington, this detached period cottage, built from buff yellow brick, is tucked away down a country lane and is only a five-minute walk from the coast. With cobbled streets lined with quirky shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants to explore, as well as its pretty harbour and waterfront, Lymington is the perfect place for a nearby day out. This cottage set within the border of the New Forest National Park, where there are endless walks and cycle rides to be had, and ponies and donkeys roam freely across the land. The local pub is situated within walking distance from the cottage which serves great food.

Upon entering the property, you’ll step into the welcoming well-equipped kitchen/diner, decorated in a classic country style, the kitchen has every home comfort you could need, including an Aga, electric oven and hob, microwave and dishwasher, while the dining area just a few steps away will easily seat up to six guests. The cosy lounge, with a TV/DVD and a warming open fire to relax in front of, perfect for unwinding after a long country walk The washing machine and tumble dryer can be found in the utility room, while there is also a downstairs WC in the cloakroom. This property also benefits from an additional relaxation and living space, where guests can chill out in front of the woodburner and watch the TV/DVD. In one corner there is a flight of stairs, leading up to a mezzanine galleried area, and the room also opens out onto the patio. Upstairs, you will find the property’s three bedrooms. The first is the master bedroom, featuring a super king-size bed as well as an en-suite bathroom with WC. The two other bedrooms are king-size (which can be made up into twin beds via zip-and-link) and a twin bedroom, which can be made up in to a king-size bed zip-and-link upon request. These two bedrooms are served by the family bathroom, which features a shower over bath and WC.

Behind the property there is the sheltered paved courtyard terrace, complete with garden furniture; the perfect place to sit with a morning coffee. A shed suitable for storing bikes can also be found here. To the front of the property, there is an enclosed lawn as well as a short driveway, which offers parking for one car. Additional parking for numerous cars is available on the lane that runs along the front of the property.

Shell seekers is a beautiful cottage in a peaceful setting. It is the cleanest and best equipped holiday home we have ever stayed in. Highly recommend it. The description mentions a pub a short (10 minute) walk from the cottage. This is true but the walk is along lanes with no footpaths - not easy with a pram or buggy and suggest a torch for night Read morewalking. Hide
