Take time out to relax in this converted former coach house, ideal for two. Take a dip in the hot tub after a long walk through the spectacular New Forest.

This charming cottage, on the fringe of the New Forest National Park and just 5 miles from the coast, is ideal for those who love to be outdoors, with a vast selection of walking and cycling routes nearby. Escape from it all with a ramble through the forest and across open heathland – there are some fantastic routes that start from Burley (7 miles). Alternatively, head to the coast for a day of sunbathing, swimming and ice cream eating at Mudeford Sandbank (8.5 miles).

A shared path leads to this stylish former coach house, which has an open-plan layout to create a spacious and bright living area. Rustle up a tasty meal for two in the chic kitchen area, before curling up on the comfy sofa with a glass of wine and a great film on the Smart TV. At the end of the day, climb the stairs to the mezzanine level overlooking the lounge, where you’ll find a charming double bedroom with pretty soft furnishings and subtle lighting (just watch out for the restricted head height over the bed). Outside, there’s an enclosed terrace where you can enjoy dinner together on a warm evening, followed by a dip in the bubbling hot tub.

There’s an excellent choice of beaches along this stretch of coast, including the secluded sand and shingle beach at Highcliffe Castle Beach (7.5 miles). This gorgeous spot is truly magical, especially with its picturesque tree-lined cliffs. From here you can visit the fascinating Highcliffe Castle, which is a Grade I listed mansion that was once inhabited by department store founder Mr Selfridge. If you’re interested in exploring the wildlife in the area, you must take a walk at Hengistbury Head (8.5 miles), where you can view rare plants and birds and the panoramic views are breathtaking.

Beautiful accommodation which is close enough (but not too close!) to amenities and attractions. Fresh scones on arrival were delicious, and after a long day of walking the hot tub was too irresistible! The setup for arrival was brilliant, with no personal contact needed - from a Covid perspective this was ideal. Thank you for a brilliant stay!!

If you’re after a holiday destination which has natural wonders and British tradition in abundance, look no further than the New Forest – a region where beautiful heathland, forest trails and stunning coastline surround quaint villages and market towns.

The National Park is found on England’s south coast, covering the south west of Hampshire but extending into Wiltshire and Dorset. It’s known for its picturesque footpaths and cycle trails, from which you can witness the spectacular sights of deer, ponies and cattle roaming free throughout the ancient woodland.

The villages of Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst and Buckler’s Hard have plenty of traditional, cosy pubs in which you can enjoy some locally-brewed cider or beer. Or, if you wanted something a little livelier, Hythe, Lymington and New Milton run fantastic weekly markets, while the lively city of Southampton is a drive away.

If you prefer coast over country, a visit to the shoreline is a must. Highlights include the Barton-on-Sea cliffs, Lymington Quay, and the Beaulieu River, where adventurous activities including canoeing await. There are plenty of other great things to do, too, with the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, Breamore House and Museum near Fordingbridge, and Exbury Gardens all found around the region.
