We love the New Forest and found the Coach House Cottage a great location, theres a lovely walk just behind the cottage and the villages of Lyndhurst and Brockenhurst are only a 5 minute drive away so easily accessible. We had everything we needed at the property and our little Pug was nice and secure in the sunny garden. There is a shop, pub and tRead moreakeaway all less than a 5 minute walk away which we found handy. We would definitely stay here again. Hide

Lovely cottage with both the open forest and pubs/takeaways within close walking distance. On the map it appears to be on the main road but it is set well back behind the service road and quiet.

If you’re after a holiday destination which has natural wonders and British tradition in abundance, look no further than the New Forest – a region where beautiful heathland, forest trails and stunning coastline surround quaint villages and market towns.

The National Park is found on England’s south coast, covering the south west of Hampshire but extending into Wiltshire and Dorset. It’s known for its picturesque footpaths and cycle trails, from which you can witness the spectacular sights of deer, ponies and cattle roaming free throughout the ancient woodland.

The villages of Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst and Buckler’s Hard have plenty of traditional, cosy pubs in which you can enjoy some locally-brewed cider or beer. Or, if you wanted something a little livelier, Hythe, Lymington and New Milton run fantastic weekly markets, while the lively city of Southampton is a drive away.

If you prefer coast over country, a visit to the shoreline is a must. Highlights include the Barton-on-Sea cliffs, Lymington Quay, and the Beaulieu River, where adventurous activities including canoeing await. There are plenty of other great things to do, too, with the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, Breamore House and Museum near Fordingbridge, and Exbury Gardens all found around the region.
