Welcoming four guests, plus one four-legged friend, the two-bedroom, barn-style property is perfectly positioned for anyone eager to get out and about on foot or by bicycle. Relax on the terrace at the single-storey home, enjoy the shared garden or wander over to the local pub for dinner.

Step into this inviting property, which combines character features, such as beautiful beams and a vaulted ceiling, with a bright, airy atmosphere. Find yourself in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, which will be at the heart of your New Forest stay. Settle down in front of the Smart TV in here or prepare meals together in the kitchen area. Gather around the table at mealtimes or step out through the glass doors into the shared garden to dine in the fresh air. When it’s time for bed, the master bedroom has a double bed and en-suite shower room, while there is also an attractive twin room. The pretty walled garden at this farm property is shared with two other cottages. There is ample parking close by.

Pack a picnic and head out to follow footpaths and cycle trails through enchanting forest areas. Take little ones to Peppa Pig World, 6.5 miles from the cottage, for an exciting day out or spend an afternoon at New Forest Lavender, 2 miles away, with its gorgeous carpets of flowers and famous tea rooms. Have a day out in Southampton, 14 miles away, to explore the shops, dine out and take part in maritime activities and water sports. Or, make your way to Salisbury, 11 miles away, to see the cathedral and explore the medieval city.

If you’re after a holiday destination which has natural wonders and British tradition in abundance, look no further than the New Forest – a region where beautiful heathland, forest trails and stunning coastline surround quaint villages and market towns.

The National Park is found on England’s south coast, covering the south west of Hampshire but extending into Wiltshire and Dorset. It’s known for its picturesque footpaths and cycle trails, from which you can witness the spectacular sights of deer, ponies and cattle roaming free throughout the ancient woodland.

The villages of Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst and Buckler’s Hard have plenty of traditional, cosy pubs in which you can enjoy some locally-brewed cider or beer. Or, if you wanted something a little livelier, Hythe, Lymington and New Milton run fantastic weekly markets, while the lively city of Southampton is a drive away.

If you prefer coast over country, a visit to the shoreline is a must. Highlights include the Barton-on-Sea cliffs, Lymington Quay, and the Beaulieu River, where adventurous activities including canoeing await. There are plenty of other great things to do, too, with the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, Breamore House and Museum near Fordingbridge, and Exbury Gardens all found around the region.
