A charming, well-equipped cottage in a beautiful location. Being affiliated to the hotel we were also able to easily enjoy their hospitality. We would all love to return one day.

Stunning situation. Beautiful lounge overlooking the river. However the main bedroom is challenging in that there is an enormous bed, leaving about six inches either side, meaning you have to walk sideways to get in, which could prove difficult for people with mobility problems, as could the stairs, which wind round, with no hand rail. The shower/bRead moreath upstairs proved impossible for us to get into, as it is so high. Kitchen needs more equipment. Overall, the stunning setting is its best feature. Hide

Very enjoyable stay in a great location with 5 adults, a baby and dog utilizing the annexe. A few minor gripes, such as lack of comfortable outside chairs or umbrella (there was a base!) and nowhere to hygienically store rubbish bags. Potential renters should be aware this is an old cottage with awkward stairs, sloping floors and the highest bath wRead moree've ever seen (hazardous getting in for a shower). Make the most of the discounted breakfast at the hotel and the ice cream van at the weekend. Hide

Small but comfortable cottage with wonderful views and beautiful and private garden. Kitchen very basic and would benefit from a bit more crockery but perfectly serviceable. TV could do with an upgrade and a DVD player would have been welcome

Really wonderful location and this means you are paying luxury price for what is a pretty basic cottage that is long overdue some tlc. The annex is good in the summer but is essentially the garage. Although the cottage is reasonably comfortable, we have definitely stayed in much better places, where thought has gone in to welcoming guests and theirRead more comfort. Sadly it didnt meet our expectations for the amount we paid. Hide

If you’re after a holiday destination which has natural wonders and British tradition in abundance, look no further than the New Forest – a region where beautiful heathland, forest trails and stunning coastline surround quaint villages and market towns.

The National Park is found on England’s south coast, covering the south west of Hampshire but extending into Wiltshire and Dorset. It’s known for its picturesque footpaths and cycle trails, from which you can witness the spectacular sights of deer, ponies and cattle roaming free throughout the ancient woodland.

The villages of Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst and Buckler’s Hard have plenty of traditional, cosy pubs in which you can enjoy some locally-brewed cider or beer. Or, if you wanted something a little livelier, Hythe, Lymington and New Milton run fantastic weekly markets, while the lively city of Southampton is a drive away.

If you prefer coast over country, a visit to the shoreline is a must. Highlights include the Barton-on-Sea cliffs, Lymington Quay, and the Beaulieu River, where adventurous activities including canoeing await. There are plenty of other great things to do, too, with the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, Breamore House and Museum near Fordingbridge, and Exbury Gardens all found around the region.
