This red brick converted farm building is full of character, from the exposed wooden beams to the stained-glass window that welcomes you through the front door. Sleeping four across two bedrooms, this charming cottage is perfect for small families who want a peaceful countryside getaway. Located on the northern border of the New Forest, there is no shortage of beautiful walks, but you can also access a selection of cities and the coast with ease.

As you enter the property, you will be greeted by a cosy, open-plan lounge/diner. After a day of walking, settle down on the sofas near the crackling wood burner and watch a film together. The compact kitchen is well-equipped for whipping up quick meals, which you can enjoy at the traditional farmhouse dining table. Stay refreshed by having a relaxing shower in the contemporary shower room. Also on the ground floor, you’ll find the pretty king-size bedroom, while the twin bedroom is on the first floor and has a convenient TV. Outside is the sunny patio, with garden furniture perfect for al fresco dining. There is ample off-road parking at the property.

Head off into the New Forest for a relaxing walk, perhaps taking a picnic with you to enjoy by a scenic river. Situated in West Wellow, there is a lovely selection of welcoming pubs to visit after a woodland stroll. Both Salisbury and Winchester are within 20 miles, perfect for a day out to the city, visiting the cathedrals, some National Trust properties, or simply going shopping. Bournemouth is a great option for a day out at the beach, or you can visit Lymington 18.5 miles away and walk the coast path.

Spent a lovely week at Hogs cottage, the cottage was beautiful. Was spotless and very well equipped. Jonathon and Julie the owners very welcoming and friendly. Plenty to do, the beautiful weather helped. Would definitely stay at Hogs cottage again

Totally positive experience, Lovely friendly owners next door. Our second stay here, with a disabled youngster. There's tons to do nearby, our youngster in a wheelchair had a marvelous time at Paulton's Park, which is exceptionally disability friendly. good food at the Hatchet in. Beaulieu and Marwell Zoo in easy reach as well as Bucklers Hard, SouRead morethampton, Winchester and Salisbury if you need a "history fix". Hide

Really pleasant stay in a really lovely little cottage run by really friendly hosts. Had everything we needed and located close to the forest and tourist attractions (motor museum, Portsmouth naval base, bucklers hard, etc). Would definitely stay again if we are back down this way.

The cottage was really well appointed and clean. The owners were very friendly and helpful. There is plenty of easy parking. Some visitors have made negative comments regarding the view from the patio of caravans - this is quite unjustifiable as the caravans are not occupied (just stored there, and not close); the patio was very pleasant. The cottaRead morege is within easy reach of many interesting places - a good centre. Canada Common is only a mile away, and we saw lots of New Forest Ponies there. Hide

What a find!!! This is such a lovely cottage to stay in, SO clean and equipped with everything we needed. It has such a relaxing and cosy feel to it, we felt very at home. The owners made us feel very welcome and the extra touches in the cottage were appreciated. This lovely little cottage is very well equipped, beautifully furnished & the bed was very comfortable. On our arrival we found everything to be immaculately clean. The owners were very friendly & helpful & we would happily return to the Hog House. Plenty to see in the area despite the chilly May weather.

A lovely homely cottage which was warm and well equipped. The owners were very helpful and friendly. The small fridge/ freezer was very small, even the fridge part. The one disappointment was the caravan storage field which is right outside of the cottage but not shown on any of the photos. As these were literally the other side of the small fence Read morefrom the outdoor seating area, I did feel it was a bit misleading that no mention of them as it did detract a bit from such a lovely cottage. This was our 2nd visit and we will definitely be returning. Our 5 year old Granddaughter loved it, she especially loved the swing from the tree. The owners are so friendly and very welcoming.

We had the most wonderful holiday. I wouldn't change a thing! Beautiful location. Unbelievably cosy and welcoming. The owners are absolutely wonderful and are so welcoming and delightful to speak too. It is perfect for the ideal relaxing get away. We would definitely love to visit again.

We had a lovely week in Hog House. It is perfectly located for a trip to Paultons Park and we found lots of other family days out nearby too. The cottage is a great size for a family of 4 and was very comfortable and clean. The owners are friendly and helpful and have equipped the cottage with everything that you would expect. Cottage very attractively designed, spotless and very well equipped. Quiet location but well positioned for many places to visit in and around the New Forest. Good local supermarket and plenty of places to dine. Hosts welcoming and friendly.

Julie & Johnathan were most welcoming, the cottage was nicely finished, and the high level of cleanliness, along with the rural setting made us feel safe with our grandchildren in the current situation. We would not hesitate from returning again, especially when their whole family contributed to our enjoyable stay.

An idyllic cottage in a beautiful part of the world. We booked for a fortnight and still didnt complete my list of things to do. It's a perfect location for forest ,coast or city. Jonathan and Julie were such a lovely couple and we had a wonderful stay.

Cottage was well prepared for first time after lockdown! Clean tidy and plenty of anti virus cleaning products. Comfortable beds etc. Peaceful surroundings, we sat outside for breakfast everyday. Close to the New forest for walks or just relaxing. Local shops not far away, not over priced. Short walk to Florence Nightingale grave in St Margarets chRead moreurch yard. If you’re after a holiday destination which has natural wonders and British tradition in abundance, look no further than the New Forest – a region where beautiful heathland, forest trails and stunning coastline surround quaint villages and market towns.

The National Park is found on England’s south coast, covering the south west of Hampshire but extending into Wiltshire and Dorset. It’s known for its picturesque footpaths and cycle trails, from which you can witness the spectacular sights of deer, ponies and cattle roaming free throughout the ancient woodland.

The villages of Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst and Buckler’s Hard have plenty of traditional, cosy pubs in which you can enjoy some locally-brewed cider or beer. Or, if you wanted something a little livelier, Hythe, Lymington and New Milton run fantastic weekly markets, while the lively city of Southampton is a drive away.

If you prefer coast over country, a visit to the shoreline is a must. Highlights include the Barton-on-Sea cliffs, Lymington Quay, and the Beaulieu River, where adventurous activities including canoeing await. There are plenty of other great things to do, too, with the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, Breamore House and Museum near Fordingbridge, and Exbury Gardens all found around the region.
