Its all about the location, which places you opposite the convenience of the hotel and its bar. Peaceful and restful location with a great view.

Lovely location at Bucklers Hard Hotel - but be aware you are on the grounds of a working museum site. On Monday and Thursday morning, there was a hive of activity from 7.30 through to 10.30 - lawn services, tractors going up & down gravel. Not great for holiday sleep-ins!! good pub -The Yachtsman-on site but this is the only eatery within 30min waRead morelk (to Beaulieu) or 10/15min drive to the local villages. We would recommend the Royal Oak Pub, just outside Beaulieu too. Watch out for the stairs! Hide

We loved our stay at The Shipwrights and the modern facilities I.e. beds linen towels hot water shower etc all to the high standard of The Master Builders. The atmosphere of the cottage just wonderful and the garden and river walks and privacy just what we had hoped for as we know the area very well and hope to come again.

Nice place to stay lovely area the city had the basics but just not modern enough For the price Comfortable stay Nice enclosed garden. Owners need to modernise the interiors as very dated Beware the stair case wont be for elderly very steep and bends.

If you’re after a holiday destination which has natural wonders and British tradition in abundance, look no further than the New Forest – a region where beautiful heathland, forest trails and stunning coastline surround quaint villages and market towns.

The National Park is found on England’s south coast, covering the south west of Hampshire but extending into Wiltshire and Dorset. It’s known for its picturesque footpaths and cycle trails, from which you can witness the spectacular sights of deer, ponies and cattle roaming free throughout the ancient woodland.

The villages of Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst and Buckler’s Hard have plenty of traditional, cosy pubs in which you can enjoy some locally-brewed cider or beer. Or, if you wanted something a little livelier, Hythe, Lymington and New Milton run fantastic weekly markets, while the lively city of Southampton is a drive away.

If you prefer coast over country, a visit to the shoreline is a must. Highlights include the Barton-on-Sea cliffs, Lymington Quay, and the Beaulieu River, where adventurous activities including canoeing await. There are plenty of other great things to do, too, with the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, Breamore House and Museum near Fordingbridge, and Exbury Gardens all found around the region.
