This restored detached cottage sits peacefully within the grounds of the owner’s property and is a couple of miles from the village of Awbridge.

This delightful cottage is situated in rural Hampshire in the heart of the picturesque Test Valley, 2 miles from the vibrant market town of Romsey, with the ancient cathedral cities of Salisbury and Winchester, both approximately 14 miles away. The village is situated on the Test Way, which passes by many pretty villages, historic churches, and country houses. Nearby Romsey offers visitors a fine selection of shops and restaurants, Romsey Abbey, or the home of the Mountbatten family at Broadlands. The National Trust’s Mottisfont Abbey is well worth a day out. Alternatively, take the short drive to the New Forest, ideal for keen walkers and cyclists.

Stepping inside, the ground floor has a cosy, characterful lounge with a TV, DVD iPod dock and wood burner which is perfect for those chillier evenings after a day out. The kitchen is light and well-equipped with an electric hob, double electric oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washing machine and microwave. The cottage has a separate dining room. The bathroom is downstairs and offers a shower over the bath and WC. Heading upstairs you will find the two bedrooms; a spacious king-size bedroom and a lovely twin bedroom.

Outside is a partially enclosed garden with patio area with seating and a gas BBQ. There is parking for 2 cars. Dog owners will have use of the handy onsite dog washing and drying facilities which are in the dog barn.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

The property was very well equiped with everything that you need for a stay in a holiday cottage. We are not dog owners and we were pleased to find that the property was so well cleaned that there were no traces that dogs had ever been in the property. A brilliant holiday in a lovely cottage, ideally placed for exploring the area, the rose garden at Mottisfont will linger in the memory for a long time! and one of the best welcome packages we have ever had! If you’re after a holiday destination which has natural wonders and British tradition in abundance, look no further than the New Forest – a region where beautiful heathland, forest trails and stunning coastline surround quaint villages and market towns.

The National Park is found on England’s south coast, covering the south west of Hampshire but extending into Wiltshire and Dorset. It’s known for its picturesque footpaths and cycle trails, from which you can witness the spectacular sights of deer, ponies and cattle roaming free throughout the ancient woodland.

The villages of Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst and Buckler’s Hard have plenty of traditional, cosy pubs in which you can enjoy some locally-brewed cider or beer. Or, if you wanted something a little livelier, Hythe, Lymington and New Milton run fantastic weekly markets, while the lively city of Southampton is a drive away.

If you prefer coast over country, a visit to the shoreline is a must. Highlights include the Barton-on-Sea cliffs, Lymington Quay, and the Beaulieu River, where adventurous activities including canoeing await. There are plenty of other great things to do, too, with the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, Breamore House and Museum near Fordingbridge, and Exbury Gardens all found around the region.
