A holiday cottage for two in the New Forest

A New Forest holiday cottage just for two, perfect for summer holidays and weekend breaks. Located in an authentic forest setting with ponies, foals, donkeys and cattle making their daily foraging trips along the hedgerows and there’s a lovely local village pub within easy walking distance. Jenny Wrens is a cosy single storey attached cottage forming part of a larger barn conversion.

The hamlet of North Gorley is to the western edge of the New Forest National Park, with two New Forest small towns in easy reach for essential supplies, just 4 miles from the market town of Ringwood and 2 miles to Fordingbridge. Jenny Wrens is a great bolthole for cycling and walking holidays, with the network of designated off road cycle trails on the doorstep. Our favourite way to explore the area is to saddle up and head out on horseback with a gentle hack across the many varying landscapes of the open Forest. Gorley is a brilliant  location where a 12 mile radius covers the Historic Cathedral City of Salisbury, the unspoilt beaches of Mudeford and the bright lights of Bournemouth.

Living..

The living room at Jenny Wrens is full of charm, with exposed beams and a wonderful wood burner for cosy evening’s in. With patio doors opening onto the garden, the room is bright and cheery, furnished with comfort in mind, the perfect place to lounge with a good book. Along with a selection of board games, there’s a 32” freeview TV with DVD player for movie nights snuggled on the sofa and an ipod docking station so you can fill the room with your favourite tunes.

Cooking and Dining..

The kitchen is ideal with exposed brick walls and is well equipped for a self catering holiday.  You have everything you need for a long stay including washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and a double oven with hob.  There’s a Nespresso Coffee machine for your morning caffine fix and a dining table and chairs if the weather isn’t on side for dining alfresco on the terrace.

Sleeping and Bathing..

The bedroom is spacious and again full of charm with exposed beams and marshmallow duvets. Here you can sleep in peace, waking up to the wonderful dawn chorus. There’s a standard size double bed and plenty of wardrobe space. The ensuite is beautifully presented and offers a deep bath with shower over.

Outside and the Grounds..

Despite being semi attached, Jenny wrens offers exceptional privacy. The rear patio style garden is a wonderful suntrap and the perfect spot for long lazy lunches. There’s garden furniture, a parasol and deck chairs. There is parking in the shared drive and a pretty front garden with bench to catch the morning rays.
