A shared path leads to this stylish former coach house, which has an open-plan layout to create a spacious and bright living area. Rustle up a tasty meal for two in the chic kitchen area, before curling up on the comfy sofa with a glass of wine and a great film on the Smart TV. At the end of the day, climb the stairs to the mezzanine level overlooking the lounge, where you’ll find a charming double bedroom with pretty soft furnishings and subtle lighting (just watch out for the restricted head height over the bed). Outside, there’s an enclosed terrace where you can enjoy dinner together on a warm evening, followed by a dip in the bubbling hot tub.
There’s an excellent choice of beaches along this stretch of coast, including the secluded sand and shingle beach at Highcliffe Castle Beach (7.5 miles). From here you can visit the fascinating Highcliffe Castle, which is a Grade I listed mansion that was once inhabited by department store founder Mr Selfridge. If you’re interested in exploring the wildlife in the area, you must take a walk at Hengistbury Head (8.5 miles), where you can view rare plants and birds and the panoramic views are breathtaking.
