Salisbury (9 miles) is fab for a day out, with its medieval cathedral where you can see Britain’s tallest spire, explore Britain’s largest Cathedral Close and Cloisters, see the world’s oldest mechanical clock and the best-preserved original 1215 Magna Carta. In the mood for a day by the sea? The vibrant coastal town of Lymington is 22 miles away and Bournemouth beaches 20 miles or you can hit the shops and museums in Southampton (20 miles).
